Copy of Document is issued by registrar office, in case the original sale deed is lost by the owner.

Procedure for getting a Copy of Document are as follow :

  1. File a police complaint and get a FIR copy
  2. You need to file a complaint about lost or missing documents and get the FIR copy.


  3. Publish a notice about missing documents as an advertisement
  4. After FIR is filed, you need to publish an advertisement through newspapers about missing property documents. You have to wait for 15 days to make sure no objection are raised regarding the document.


  5. Register with notary
  6. Get the notary attestation on the undertaking written on Stamp Paper having details of loss of document's and description of the property, along with Copy of Advertisement & Copy of FIR.


  7. Duplicate Sale deed from Registrar Office

Finally, You should submit the application for Duplicate Sale Deed to the Registrar Office along with Copy of Advertisement, Copy of FIR and the undertaking stamped by the notary. You have to pay some fees informed by authorities and they would issue the copy of the sale deed after due verification.
